this photo was taken just before this block self destructed, leaving us one block short.  Unfortunately, Lowes around us do not have any more.  Hopefully we can find just one more or can special order just one.  Otherwise it will be spring before we finish our porch.

Back yard guests - they've flown over a couple times.  Thought they would land this time but it was not meant to be.  They continued on.

Hickory Tussock Moth or Hickory Tiger Moth

Larvae have different color forms. Some are white-haired with blackspots clearly seen on each body segment whereas others are furry-white with a row of black, furry dots down the back with two long,black tufts of hair near the coal-black head. This caterpillar isbasically white with a black head and when fully grown is about 1-1/2inches long. Symptoms are usually a skin rash (poison ivy-like) andsometimes severe itching followed by a painful burning sensation.
